New Patients

Overview

Your first visit to Mardiney® Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology Centers is an opportunity for us to get to know you, understand your symptoms, and begin building a personalized plan for care. During this initial consultation, we will review your medical history, discuss your respiratory or allergy-related concerns, and evaluate potential environmental or dietary triggers. When appropriate, we may also perform diagnostic testing to establish a clear baseline for treatment.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to helping patients effectively manage chronic conditions and improve their quality of life through expert asthma, allergy, and immunology care. Our patient-centered approach allows us to tailor every treatment plan to your unique sensitivities, symptoms, and health goals. Our experienced clinical team is committed to providing care with compassion, efficiency, and the highest level of medical expertise.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

If you are a new patient, you will be asked to complete several forms prior to your first appointment. This information gives our physicians access to your medical history, helping us avoid unnecessary repeat testing and allowing for a more accurate diagnosis. New patients should arrive at the office approximately 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment with completed paperwork.

Your first visit will include a detailed consultation, review of your history, and diagnostic evaluations such as skin allergy testing or lung function screening. After testing, your physician will review the results with you and outline a clear, effective treatment plan tailored to your needs.

To begin the new patient process, please contact us through our contact page. Once your request is received, our team will provide you with the required patient forms and next steps.

Preparing for Allergy Testing

In many cases, allergy testing is performed during your initial visit. To ensure accurate results, please stop taking antihistamines, over-the-counter cold medications, or decongestants at least three days prior to your appointment. The generic beta-blocker Propranolol should be held within 24 hours of testing.

Common medications that contain antihistamines include:

  • Allegra® or Allegra-D® (Fexofenadine)
  • Benadryl® (Diphenhydramine)
  • Clarinex® or Clarinex-D® (Desloratadine)
  • Claritin® or Claritin-D® (Loratadine)
  • Xyzal®(Levocetirizine)
  • Zyrtec® or Zyrtec-D® (Cetirizine)
  • Chlor-Trimeton (Chlorpheniramine Maleate)
  • Pepcid (Famotidine)
  • Tagament (Cimetidine)
  • Zantac  (Ranitidine)

Some sleep aids, such as Unisom®, may also contain antihistamines. If you are unsure whether a medication should be discontinued, please consult with your physician prior to your visit.
